Is silver actually a good investment?

Silver has been a valuable asset for investors for many reasons. It is often used to diversify a person's portfolio, protect against inflation, and is considered a “safe haven to store your wealth”. However, silver entails risks, such as volatility, risks related to supply and demand, and the risk of theft if you own physical pieces of silver. It has been derogatorily called the gold of the poor and is often left behind in favor of more expensive and apparently more prestigious invertible metals.

Silver often receives little attention in the area of resources. After all, what Olympic athlete wants to win a silver medal? But reputation aside, is silver a good investment?.
